Challenge:

Yaskawa Motoman integration partner Alliance Automation was tasked by an automotive OEM to improve consistency and reduce repetitive strain in a manual screwdriving application.

Solution:

1) Operator loads lower component into the parts nest.

2) Operator loads upper component, and places the bolts.

3) Operator initiates robot sequence.

4) Robot drives bolts.

5) Operator unloads finished part.

Benefits:

Automating the screwdriving part of the process ensures fast and consistent application, reduces operator time at station, and overall cycle times. The power-force limiting features of the HC10DT robot enables workers to work alongside robot in cycle.
